The Bodisattva is dead

My uncle passed away yesterday at 12:45.

I am in shock, even though we knew it was only a matter of time. He had come home to the States from Japan for hospice care, I just thought there would be more time to prepare.

I have and had, a great deal of respect for my uncle. he put his money where his mouth was. He spoke multiple languages, was a medical doctor, psychotherapist and a journalist. He worked with Mother Teresa at her battered and abused women’s shelter in Tokyo. One of my cherished possessions is a picture of the two of them together. He travelled all over the world. He led tours to ancient sites in South America for Japanese tourists. David had been everywhere and done almost everything.

He was a calm person and did not raise his voice when angry. He was compassionate. He was giving.

He will be missed.
